All Things Are Of God

Are All Things of God?

by Dr. Kay Fairchild

In this message I would like to show forth the truth concerning what God brings into our lives and what He does not bring.  God has brought all good and lasting things.  For those who believe that sin, sickness, and disease are the tests and trials sent to us by God to mature us I ask you to read and meditate on Hebrews 8-12 in the Amplified.  There it tells us that, “Where you fathers tried {My patience} and tested {My forbearance} and found I stood their test, and they saw My works for forty years.”  To the untrained or “non-Spirit-filled” eye one would think that God put all kinds of obstacles in the children of Israel’s way to get them to rely upon Him.  Not so, those things naturally came their way because of their rebellion they used the situation to test God.

I do not believe that a person believes in two powers if a person does not believe that all things come from God.  Not everything that comes into our lives comes from God.  He can use those things to exercise our faith, patience and long suffering.  Under the Old Covenant, God dealt through external means and measures.  They did not have a reborn spirit so He could not deal with them spiritually.  He dealt with them through the physical, from the outside.  The mentality of the New Covenant has nothing to do with the Old Covenant. The new is not an addendum to the old. The old was completely obliterated and done away with.  We are going to see how God relates to us differently in the New Covenant when we stay at the foot of the cross and keep looking and come to an understanding of what took place.  Israel did not just look and live, they had to come to some understanding of that serpent on the pole.

Let us look at this concept of the New Covenant taking president over the Old Covenant by considering the following.  Why would God have to put something on us to process, train, and mature us if that was what was thrusted upon us through the fall of Adam?  Then to remedy the situation God sends His only begotten Son to die on .the cross?  Some are concerned about taking the mark of the beast.  The Bible says that we already have the mark and now we should be concerned about getting rid of it.  We are not tempted because God tempts us, we do not sin because God caused us to sin, we are tempted when we are drawn away of our own lusts because maybe we have not been meditating and keeping our mind on Him.  We have to interpret all scripture through the scarlet thread of the cross.

Sin, sickness, and death and the entire residue of Adam have been stripped of their power.  There is only one power, the power of God.  If all things that come into our lives are from God, say for instance, cancer is put on us to process us, Then if it is from God even medicine could not cure us if it is from God then nothing can help us until God has taught us the lesson we are to learn through it.

HOW DOES GOD MATURE US?

I want to show the way that God causes us to grow up.  I want a new paradigm; I want to come from the correct premise.

1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. This is talking about prophesying.  Prophesy can also mean teaching and explaining. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. This means that if you have the wrong teaching or if you are not rightly dividing the word then error is what you are going to minister.  The word “author” means the causer and “confusion” means commotion, disorder, temptation, trials, and tumults.  This verse is saying that God is not the cause of confusion, commotion, disorder, temptation, trials or tumults.  So, God does not put these things on us or bring them into our lives to process us.

The real process is waking up to the provision that has already been accomplished.  When Israel went into the promise land, they did not take things in with them; they kicked out things.  The process is waking up to what has already been done.  It is not God putting disease on us to mature us.   He does not have to put those things on us; we already have them on us.   Sin, sickness and death came to us through the inheritance of Adam.  Now our spirit does not have those things, but in our soul and body, we still have them.  We still have some residue of the inheritance of that which Adam brought through the fall.  Some might say, “Wasn’t God the cause of that,   He put the tree of good and evil there.”   The answer is not directly, because He still gave Adam a choice.  Then God told Adam that since you did this, this is the result!  He did not make Adam sin.  He allowed the act, because Adam had the choice.  There is no purity in innocence. Adam was in a realm of innocence, he was not mature.

WE ARE NOT IN A WILDERNESS

No matter what we are experiencing, we are not in a wilderness.  We are blessed, He has given us all things pertaining to life and Godliness, and it is all in us.  It just needs to be brought to the surface by the illumination and the revelation of Christ.  As the Spirit brings forth, eventually the entire residue of Adam will be consumed by the presence of God.

If we say that we do not believe that all things come from God and that constitutes the fact that I believe in two powers, then I am judging by appearance.  We must understand that what Adam brought into our lives through the fall has been stripped of its power.

Ecclesiastes says that there is a time to weep and a time to rejoice.  They wept because they were sad.  They did not have a hope within them,  In the New Covenant there is not a time to weep because you are sad.   Revelation says that He wiped away all tears, pain, sorrow and former things.  Therefore, in the old there was a cause to weep.  This is not the time to weep, because we are gaining understanding.  The Feast of Tabernacles is a time of rejoicing.  If we are going to weep, we are going to weep for joy.  It is a time to lift up our heads for our redemption is drawing nigh, it is beginning to be developed and flow out of us as it never has before.

There are some things that we have to divide rightly.   Since we are a first fruit company, we should not go out and minister confusion or we are no different than Babylon.  We have to have our facts straight.  I am not saying that we never say anything wrong.  But, we are being brought to the place where we can give an answer to every man of the hope that lies within us.

Hebrews 12:5-9

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh (that is speaking of the Old Covenant) which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?  This tells us how we grow and mature.  Chastening is a word that means training or learning; it does not mean disciplining someone by a beating.  Changing the mind can feel like a beating though.

Scourge means to handle, to squeeze.  When the Word brings changes in our mind it is God’s Spirit putting the squeeze on us.  It is not an easy thing to have our minds changed.  Since chastisement, learning and training do not come with His putting afflictions on our flesh (because He is the father of spirits), it comes through His dealing with us spiritually, illuminating our minds and giving us understanding of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This is God’s way of maturing and training a people.

Ephesians 4:10-15 (KJV)

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:  The Holy Spirit is the teacher of the Word.  When a person that is called into the five-fold ministry has a correct understanding of the Word then it aids the Holy Spirit to reveal truth.  It is said that a child will do well in school because of the teacher.  If a minister just throws things out and does not break the Word down then there can be confusion.  The bottom line is this: the true teacher is the Holy Spirit and when God gives a person the gift of teaching, which is the ability to break down that Word, that teaching enables the Holy Spirit.   It is the explanation of the death, burial, and resurrection that we need, not just the declaration of it.  The explanation of the truth enables the Spirit to then quicken the word in us.

Ephesians 4:10-15 (KJV)

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.  What means does God use here to mature a people?  God uses the five-fold ministry speaking the truth; He does not put things on our flesh or tempt us in someway.  Another scripture that shows what matures the body of Christ is found in I Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 11:26 (KJV)

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. Till He comes is maturity.  When He comes, we have matured.  We are to drink of the wine and we are to eat of the bread till He comes or stands up in us.  In other words, the revelation of the bread and the wine causes Him to stand up in us.

WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT ARE OF GOD?

1 John 3:1-2 (KJV)

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  One translation of verse two says, “For we know that when reality breaks forth”. When illumination, when understanding, when reality breaks forth concerning Him in us and as us, then we are going to see Him as He is and we are going to be like Him. Being like Him is being mature.  Maturity comes when reality breaks forth, then we shall see Him as He is.  How is He, He is maturity.

Proverbs 24:3-4 (KJV)

3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: 4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. This verse is saying that wisdom, knowledge and understanding are what builds the house or what matures us. He deals with us spiritually and that is what brings maturity.

1 Corinthians 1:23-24 (KJV)

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.  What is the power and the wisdom of God?  The power and wisdom of God is the preaching of the cross which is Christ crucified.  It takes the power of God and the wisdom of God, to mature us.

THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL

Hebrews 2:10 (KJV)

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.  Again, I do not believe that if I do not believe that all things come from God that I believe in two powers.  Why, because sin, sickness, death, depression and all kinds of problems have no real power as God calls power.  It is a counterfeit corrupted form of power, it is not a real power.  As far as God is concerned, and as far as what happened at the cross is concerned, death, all kinds of death are an enemy. If God brings sickness then He makes us sin.  When we are told to abstain from all appearances of evil, you could not abstain if it had real power or if it came from the one power, God.  If the one power brings sickness then it would do no good to take medicine.  Medical science can get you well because medical knowledge comes from God.  Doctors can get you well because sickness does not have a power to begin with, not any real power.

Hebrews 2:14-15 (KJV)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.  The devil, the flesh and the carnal mind are really one in the same.  We are not fighting some devil out there somewhere.  When I am led by the dictates of my flesh then that constitutes the devil.  When my carnal mind, the woman, or someone other than the Christ is ruling, then that ruler is the devil.  In Hebrews 2:14-15, He connects the flesh with him partaking of flesh and blood.  We can be our own worst enemy. We, in our carnal self, are the biggest devil on the face of the earth.  Thank God, that that is not our true identity, our true identity is Christ.  He took upon Himself flesh and blood so that He might destroy the power of the devil.  Since, He destroyed the power of the devil, He destroyed everything at Calvary that had any kind of a power that came through the fall of Adam.

Physical death is an enemy and has no power.  If physical death has a power then people who die would not live again.  It appears to have power but is of no true substance.  When we let our mind entertain the notion of physical death, we are giving ourselves over to something weak something beneath the sons of God.  This is the same thing as worshipping an idol.  In the New Testament we find the word “glory”, which means something that is heavy, something of substance, something that is weighty.  The “all things” that are of God are the things of glory, the things that are pure, the things of the kingdom.  Jesus was teaching His disciples in Matthew 6 how to pray.  He said to pray, “Thy kingdom come thy will be done (this is what God brings) in earth as it is in heaven (the pristine, pure, righteous things of God).”  What is in heaven, sin, sickness and death?  No, the things of the kingdom, which are pure life, glory, majesty, power, might, dominion, righteousness and spirit, are in heaven.  What is the source of sin, sickness and death?  It came as a result of the fall of man.

Matthew 6:10 (KJV)

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Heaven is the realm of Spirit.  What is in our spirit is pure, holy, and righteous, it is God.  Earth speaks of our soul and body.  What is in our spirit is to flow out and be manifested in one soul and body.

THE SOURCE OF TEMPTATION AND TRIAL

James 1:13-17 (KJV)

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  Every good and perfect gift of God comes down from above and there is no other source.  That is what the last part of verse seventeen is declaring.

James 4:1 (KJV)

1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? War comes from people that have not had their minds renewed.  Yes, God is in control in the sense that He took care of all of that, at Calvary.  Therefore there is only one power.  The powers that be are ordained of God.

I John 5:21 (KJV)

21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.  Idols are false images about God.  We have had a lot of false images about God.  One of them has been that God puts sickness on us to process us.

Romans 8:28 (KJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. The word “purpose” in the Greek is showbread.  The table of showbread was the piece of furniture that was on the opposite side of the candlestick.  It had twelve loaves of bread which represents: crucified, died, buried, quickened, raised, seated, crucified with, died with, quickened with, buried with, raised with and seated with. That table also had a vial of wine on it.  When we come and partake of the bread and the wine all things work together for good as we see the one power.  The table of showbread revealed what was done in stripping the power away from the sin, sickness, and death that Adam brought in.  When we focus on and eat of the bread then maturity will come and we will see that there is only one power, then all things will work together for good.  There are a whole lot of things that happen to people that do not work together for good.

When we do not stay at Calvary long enough and we do not eat enough Lamb so that the marriage can take place between Spirit and soul we cause confusion.  This confusion is why it is hard to rightly divide the word.

IF ALL THINGS THAT COME INTO OUR LIFE IS OF GOD, THEN WHAT DECISIONS DO WE HAVE?

Romans 8:6-9 (KJV)

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit…

Lamb is on the menu of the marriage super of the Lamb.  So we should eat Lamb, continue to eat the bread and drink the wine, so that we can birth maturity.  Remember Abraham did not birth Isaac, who represents Christ, until he met a man with bread and wine.

Let us realize that if we do not believe that everything that comes down the pike comes from God then that does not mean that we believe in two powers.  Those things have no real substance or no real power, they have been stripped of their power and they just appear to have a power.  That is why I Thessalonians 5:22, says to abstain from all appearance of evil, or abstain from thinking that certain things have power when it has been stripped of all power.

God only brings the good and lasting things into our lives.  Our patience, long suffering and faith are exercised.  I thank God that He is not divided.  Amen!
